We’ve got another router the Netgear RP614 v3 Cable/DSL Web Safe Router which we’ll look into. I’ve always bought Netgear switches and routers myself so I was pretty interested to open it up.

So now we’ve got something that was made probably 2-3 years ago, the Netcomm NB9W ADSL2+ Modem Router with VOIP. It’s a large unit and at first you think it’s all just plastic but it really looks like a lot of hardware for a router like this. This router has lots of Broadcom chips.

Here’s my first post, inside the 2Wire 2071A Bigpond Gateway, I think this modem is about 2-3 years old. No screws to unscrew this modem, so I just took a dermal to it and opened it up (not like it was working anyway).

Welcome to Inside Gadgets!
In this blog I’ll show you tear downs of various gadgets (e.g. routers, TV tuners, etc) that I can grab my hands on; most if not all will be old gadgets. The tear downs will show various pictures and (try to) identify the main components.
I have a basic understanding of electronics so don’t expect the tear downs to be too much in depth π
